G3 to Build New Elevators in Alberta and Saskatchewan

G3, a global grain handling company headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba, announced its plans to build two new elevators in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Known as G3 Rycroft, Alberta, and G3 Melfort, Saskatchewan, both new elevators will be located on the CN Rail, and each will have a capacity of 42,000 tons. Both will be constructed to include the same high-efficiency features as G3’s existing facility across Western Canada. Both will have a loop track that can rapidly unload a 150-car unit train, the ability to unload a Super-B truck in less than five minutes, and both will have superior road access for producers, as well as rail links to export markets.

Currently, G3 has 17 facilities across Western Canada, two of which - G3 Vermilion, Alberta, and G3 Swift Current, Saskatchewan - opened earlier this year. The company also owns G3 Terminal Vancouver, a state-of-the-art export facility that opened last year. The addition of these two new facilities will enhance G3’s ability to keep grain moving to market, and will generate more delivery opportunities for farmers.
