Anchor Ingredients Acquires Barley Business From Dakota Dry Bean, Becoming One of U.S.’s Largest Bar

Fargo, North Dakota-based Anchor Ingredients announced it has acquired the barley business and its related production assets from Dakota Dry Bean of East Grand Forks, Minnesota. This deal now makes Anchor one of the largest barley processors in the U.S., boosting its processing capacity to foster growth in its key markets.

The business and assets acquired through the deal are located in East Grand Forks, which will provide new channels for Anchor’s farmer partners across the region. They will be added to the company’s existing five value-added processing plants across North Dakota and Montana, and its offices in California, New Jersey, and Minnesota.

Anchor has been expanding since its launch in 2015 as a premium ingredients company focused on processing for a diverse set of specialty grains and pulses, and these additional assets will make the company able to pearl and mill barley into premium ingredients for use in both the human and pet food markets.
