Ardent Mills Agrees to Acquire Quinoa Operations from Andean Naturals

Flour milling and ingredient company Ardent Mills announced it will be expanding its presence in the specialty grain market, and has agreed to acquire Andean Naturals’ quinoa sourcing, cleaning, and packaging operations in Yuba City, California, for an undisclosed amount.

The deal will be conducted by Ardent Mills through its specialty grain and plant-based ingredients business unit, The Annex, and is expected to close in mid-February 2020.

The Yuba City operation will also be Ardent Mills’ first gluten-free sourcing and cleaning facility with the capacity to expand to include additional grains, marking a milestone for the company that has recently acquired an organic grain elevator in Klamath Falls, Oregon; formed an exclusive partnership with Colorado Quinoa; and deployed an investment in its Denver Mill in support of The Annex business.
