Canadian Pacific to Build New Terminal in Quebec

Canadian Pacific (CP) announced its plans to build a new commodity transload terminal to service its existing Côte Saint-Luc yard in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Construction will happen over a series of phases, with the first phase, which should be complete by June 2020, consisting of a 118,000 square-foot, rail-served facility for the receiving, unloading, carrying and delivering of rail traffic.

The project will be operated by freight transportation service provider, TYT, and is expected to create additional connections, and to provide improved service and new end markets to commodity customers. It will enhance distribution capabilities through an expanded footprint that extends beyond rail to include trucking and transload services. The site already has 4,000 feet of adjacent track, with an interior track infrastructure that can accommodate more than 18 rail cars for year-round protection from the elements. Its strategic location will also have easy access to multiple highways and close proximity to the Port of Montreal for faster, more reliable service along the east coast.
