Koch Foods Announces New $50M Alabama Feed Mill Project

The 130-acre high-tech poultry feed mill will have storage capacity for 1 million bushels of corn, will be served directly by rail, and will support more than 200 poultry farmers across 10 counties, mostly concentrated in Marshall, DeKalb, Cherokee, and Etowah counties.

Based in Park Ridge, Illinois, Koch already has a significant footprint in the state of Alabama, employing 3,000 people at its four processing facilities statewide. Last year the company invested $80 million to expand its Gadsden facility, lifting production capacity and making it one of the largest poultry processing plants in the country, and this feed mill in Attalla is being built in support of that nearby plant.

Construction of the Attalla site is already underway, with expectations that it will be online in the fall of 2021, and the company states it will begin assembling a management team in Q1 2020.
