Delegation of Mexican Sorghum Buyers to Visit Kansas, Texas

A delegation of Mexican sorghum buyers and feed millers from the National Association of Food Manufactures for Animal Consumption (ANFACA) will be visiting the U.S. to tour key sorghum growing areas across Kansas and Texas from June 18-22.

The group will consist of buyers selected by the U.S. Grains Council from companies located in central and northern Mexico, including the state of Jalisco, the top livestock producing state in the country.

The visiting buyers will be given the opportunity to view the entire U.S. sorghum supply chain from farms, to elevators, to ports, and will also include meetings with sorghum producers, suppliers, feed mills, a rail facility, and an ethanol plant.

During the 2016-17 marketing year, Mexico accounted for 22.4 million bushels or 568,254 tons of U.S. sorghum exports valued at $103 million, making the country the second largest importer of U.S. sorghum behind China.
