Cargill, ARASCO Partner to Build Corn Mill in Saudi Arabia

Cargill announced its first investment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) with the official launch of The Middle East Food Solutions Company (MEFSCO) - a joint venture between Cargill and leading Saudi food company ARASCO, which was formed in 2013.

The MEFSCO venture is a corn mill that will produce starches and sweeteners for the Gulf Cooperation Countries (GCC) of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, and Qatar. The additional plant will effectively double glucose and starch production capacity for MEFSCO, triple total production volumes, and expand its product portfolio to add high fructose corn syrup.

The capacity expansion in the GCC region comes as demand continues to grow across the confectionery, bakery, and catering segments, and consumer awareness regarding food safety spreads. Cargill’s processing expertise will support the region’s food processors in providing the highest quality ingredients.
