Redwood Group Acquires Organic, Non-GMO Grain Handling Assets in Missouri

The Redwood Group, an employee-owned commodity merchandising and supply company based in Mission, Kansas, has acquired organic and non-GMO grain handling assets located in Lathrop and Pleasant Hill, Missouri, from Lathrop Feed & Grain Inc.

Operations at both sites continues with Redwood as majority owner under the name Lathrop FSG LLC - with FSG standing for the three main areas of business - Food, Seed, and Grain.

Collectively, the two sites offer more than 1 million bushels of grain space with capabilities for cleaning, sorting, and bagging non-GMO and organic grains, and both are able to load and ship via containers, railcars, and trucks.

The acquisition will enable Redwood to expand into the provision of specialized organic and non-GMO grains -- two segments of the grain industry that are experiencing strong market growth due to growing consumer demand.
