Cargill Invests $18M to Upgrade Nebraska Grain Facility

Cargill is investing $18 million to upgrade its grain facility located in Gibbon, Nebraska, which handles corn, soybeans, and wheat. Located on Union Pacific mainline rail, the facility connects growers to export markets in the U.S. Gulf, Pacific Northwest, Mexico, and to key end users in California.

The projects are expected to be carried out in phases, and once complete in early 2019, will add an additional 2 million bushels of upright grain storage space and increase upload capacity to 65,000 bushels per hour.

The Gibbon facility is one of 16 sites operated by Cargill across the state of Nebraska, and the company expects that the upgrades will have a positive effect on both its local and long supply chains.
