Montana Specialty Mills Breaks Ground on $20M Non-GMO, Organic Plant
Montana Specialty Mills has broken ground on a $20 million plant to be located at the Great Falls Montana Development Authority’s AgriTech Park that will specialize in processing non-GMO grains and organic oilseeds.
Montana Specialty Mills has been in Great Falls for 70 years, engaged in oilseed crushing and mustard processing, however the relocation of operations will enable the company to expand into the rapidly growing non-GMO, organic vegetable oils, and protein meals markets. To do so, the company also plans to add another 10 employees to its team.
The development authority invested $8 million earlier this year to build-out the AgriTech Park in Great Falls, which saw its rail system be awarded the Excellence in Regional Transportation Award by the National Association of Development Organizations and was certified by BNSF Railway as part of its Premier Parks Program.
