Richardson Expands Oat Business

Richardson International announced it is expanding its oat business through its acquisition of family-owned European Oat Millers. The acquisition was made for an undisclosed amount and closed on June 15.

Located in Bedford, England, European Oat Millers is the second largest oat milling business in Europe, producing a wide range of oat products including oat flakes, flour, groats, wheat and barley flakes, and extruded ingredients.

Looking to the future, Richardson, which is the largest oat miller in North America with plants in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba; Martensville, Saskatchewan; Barrhead, Alberta; and South Sioux City, Nebraska, plans to make further investments to increase production capacity and expand its global business.
