Poinsett Rice & Grain Acquires Ritter Grain Services

Poinsett Rice & Grain Inc. has acquired Arkansas-based Ritter Grain Services for an undisclosed amount.

Ritter Agribusiness owns and operates 32,000 acres of farmland in the Delta region, and manages another 16,000, while also controlling a partnership in a cotton gin and a warehouse operation. The lease on a grain facility it has held since 2013 will expire in March, reverting control of the facility to its owner.

Through the deal, Poinsett – which transports crops including soybeans, corn, wheat, long grain rough rice, medium grain rough rice, long grain brown rice, and medium grain brown rice by truck, barge, rail, and vessel – will now own six storage facilities, a river port, and a brown rice mill.
