Twenty Seven Million Dollar Grain Handling Facility Advancing in Missouri

A $27 million grain handling facility being constructed in Missouri by grain marketing and farm supply cooperative, MFA Inc. in partnership with MFA Oil is on pace to begin operations this coming summer.

Construction of the project, which is a joint project between MFA Inc. and MFA Oil, began on June 1, 2016. The site will include three 80-foot diameter grain silos and one 60-food silo, a 110-railroad car capacity, and will be located on Union Pacific Railroad track with the railroad constructing mainline switches to the complex.

The largest silo will have storage capacity for 560,000 bushels of grain and the smallest silo will have the capacity to store 316,000 bushels. The site will receive shipments on two lanes at a pace of 30,000 bushels per hour. It will serve farmers in the Northwest Missouri region and company officials believe it will have a 100-mile draw.
