United Grain Planning Grain Terminal in Russia’s Far East


Russia’s state-owned United Grain Co. is planning the construction of a $290 million specialized grain terminal in the far east port of Zarubino. The project will be built through three phases – construction of the first phase, which will include a berth for Panamax and Post Panamax ships and a silo park, is scheduled to be begin in 2018 and be completed by 2020.

Phase II, which is expected to be completed in 2023 will increase storage space to 10 million tons, and will include the addition of more berths and other facilities.

Construction on Phase III will begin in 2023 and will increase the handling volumes of the site to an eventual 10 million tons per year.
