Grain Trading Unit of Criddle & Co. Acquired by Nidera UK

UK-based food and agriculture company, Edward Billington & Son Ltd., has agreed to sell the grain trading unit of Criddle & Co. to Nidera UK for an undisclosed amount. Criddle & Co. is a commodity grain trading company with offices in Liverpool and Wem, which supplies grains and ingredients to food and animal feed processors and manufacturers in the UK.

Given Nidera’s growing presence in the global grains sector, the deal will provide Criddle & Co. with the backing to support growth and expansion, while creating value for both companies and their customers.

Despite the change in ownership, the business will retain its status as preferred supplier of combinable crops to the compound feed business of The Billington Group.”

Following the closing of the deal scheduled for December 1, Criddle & Co. will retain its standing as a key supplier of combinable grains to The Billington Group, and the business will continue to be headed by Stewart Johnson.
