Amuragrotsentr Building Soy Facility in Russia’s Far East

Russia’s Amuragrotsentr is building a soybean processing plant in the Belogorsk area in Russia’s Amur Oblast in the country’s Far East region, according to the company’s chief executive, Alexander Sarapkin.

The plant will be constructed in two stages. The first stage will be for the production of raw soybean products for animal feed including oil, meal, and lecithin, and the second stage of the facility will be dedicated to the production of isolated soy protein.

The facility will have a total processing capacity of 240,000 tons per year and will be able to meet 25% of the total demand for isolated soy protein on the Russian market. Isolated soy protein is used in meat products such as sausages, and can be used for compound feed production.

The capital investment being allocated to the project has not been disclosed, but the company has stated that it the project will be funded through cash on hand, and it will take five years to earn back the initial investment.
