Scoular Company Acquires Kansas-based KAMO Grain Inc.

Omaha, Nebraska-based grain trader, Scoular Company, announced the acquisition of Pittsburg, Kansas-based KAMO Grain Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

Scoular regional manager, Andrew Determan, states that the acquisition, which includes a 550,000 bushel grain handling facility and access to all Class I railroads, fits well with Scoular’s grain handling operations in the region adding, “We’re pleased to be adding Pittsburg to our network of facilities, giving area farmers a convenient and competitive market for their grain.”

The Scoular Company operates 90 independent sites that supply, feed ingredients, food ingredients, and multiple supply chain services for end users, as well as trading, storing, and handling grain, and managing global transportation and logistics.

KAMO Grain Inc. has had a relationship with the Scoular Company for several years since its inception 26 years ago. “The KAMO staff and I are pleased to join The Scoular Company,” says KAMO vice president and general manager Brice Elnicki, to Feed and Grain, ”so we can continue that relationship as well as build on the ones we’ve established with our customers over the past 26 years.”
